GUNS N ROSES / PEARL JAM / SCREAMING TREES Supergroup Releases New Music: Rolling Stone
Rock supergroup The Levee Walkers have premiered a song called “All Things Fade Away.” The group consists of Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan and Screaming Trees drummer Barrett Martin. They rotate vocalists, and on this track Seattle singer-songwriter Ayron Jones takes the lead. The song marks a shift away from the hard rock and into a lighter sound, and you can hear it here.
KIRK HAMMETT Has Over 500 Ideas for the Next METALLICA Album: Loudwire
Kirk Hammett says he has over 500 riffs written for Metallica’s next album. Talking with British GQ, Hammett recalled how he lost his phone during the writing of Metallica’s last album, losing hundreds of song ideas he had recorded onto his device. He did not receive a single credit on that album as a result. Now he says: “My way of recovering from that is overcompensating. I’m sitting on a lot of really great music that is just waiting to be developed.”

BILLY CORGAN Previews Forthcoming Virtual Reality Experience: Rolling Stone
Billy Corgan (or William Patrick Corgan, as he now likes to be called) travels through a psychedelic cosmos in his new “Aeronaut” video, a 2-D preview of his upcoming virtual reality experience. The entire video was captured with VR technology, and shows the Smashing Pumpkins singer playing a piano and floating through various landscapes. He says his VR experience will be available to the public in early 2018, in conjunction with his solo album Ogilala.
