Beasley Media Group has an on-going commitment to making a difference in the local communities we serve; this has been the foundation upon which the company was built back in 1961, when George Beasley purchased his first radio station in North Carolina! We proudly continue that tradition today, with four initiatives a year. This time around, we are focused on the importance and impact of art, music, sports, and the sciences on a child. We’ll also highlight how to make learning fun, with opportunities for kids to stay engaged while away from school.
Kids who participate in sports and the arts do better in school, they reap benefits that will last a lifetime. Sports teaches teamwork and leadership skills. Taking up an instrument can help a child develop focus, memory, and concentration. Performance art leads to creativity and better language and reading skills. But the truth is, many kids don’t get the chance to join in these essential activities at school. You can help make these opportunities available to every child. Volunteer! Coach – local leagues are looking for you. Create your own theater production – a backyard, church or schoolyard can make a great stage. Donate! Support the local organizations giving kids the chance to develop skills and express themselves!
