Pierre’s Vinyl Cut: Rolling Stones ‘Miss You’ Special Disco Version
There are many ways to shake a case of the Monday’s. On this particular Monday, August 5th, we rock…AND ROLL with the world’s greatest Rock and Roll Band: The Rolling Stones!
On June 9th, 1978 the band released their fourteenth studio album Some Girls. Along with being the first record with Ronnie Wood as a full-time member of the band, Some Girls also pulled some influence from the music happenings of the time. The most prevalent case was the popularity of disco. One of the prime examples would be the lead-off single ‘Miss You’ which topped the US Singles chart today in 1978.
To celebrate this chart-topping anniversary, a trip to Studio R with a very special Vinyl Cut…in hot pink!
This eight-and-a-half-minute Special Disco Version of “Miss You” is the first dance remix from the band. The extended version nearly doubles the original with extra verses, instrumentation, and solos. And when it’s played on a bubble-gum pink vinyl record you can’t help but dance to great sounds of The Rolling Stones!
