It’s National Cotton Candy Day! New York City is shockingly sweet. The Big Apple has a series of interesting inventions that’ll put your old school idea of fairy floss to shame.  If you’re heading to Manhattan or Brooklyn, you’ll want to stop at these 6 locations.

1. Ruimilk Soft Ice Cream

The shop is located in Flushing, Queens and has some Instagram-worthy creations. One of their more popular scoops includes a cotton candy version of Hello Kitty. Most of their ice cream treats include a few scoops of soft serve with a colorful dollop of the disappearing sensation on top.

2. Wu Kong

The dessert hot spot is location in Chinatown and has magical creations that’ll make Willy Wonka jealous. An ice cream cone features a UFO slice of cotton candy surrounding the sweet. Customers can select from desserts that look like Mickey Mouse or even a devil!

3. Naoki

Stopping by the Chelsea area? Well, you’ll have to grab a bite to eat at Naoki. The restaurant offers a sesame pudding with cotton candy on top. Each order comes with a matcha latte sauce which is used to pour overtop the fairy floss to reveal the cake.

4. Industry Kitchen

Those people who are not ice cream fans, you’ll love this location! Industry Kitchen is located by the South Street Seaport and has awesome views of East river. Their cotton candy treat is on top of a rainbow-colored pizza and includes cream cheese frosting as well as pop rocks.

5. New Territories

If you’re heading to the East Village, you’re going to want to stop by this store. New Territories has created the ultimate milkshake. The rainbow dessert includes cotton candy, a pretzel, sprinkles, marshmallows and a few other sugary items.

6. Brooklyn Floss

Head over the Williamsburg Bridge in order to test out an all-natural and gluten free creation. Brooklyn Floss has 24 different flavors of cotton candy on their menu. Some include lemon lavender, pumpkin spice, cardamom, and strawberry rose.
