Today (July 13) marks the 33rd anniversary of Live Aid.

The legendary benefit show, which took place at Wembley Stadium in London and JFK Stadium in Philadelphia, helped raise more than $125 million for African famine relief efforts and was broadcast live in 110 countries and was watched by over a billion people worldwide.  Here are some of our favorite performances from that historic day.

Queen

U2

Judas Priest

Tina Turner & Mick Jagger

David Bowie

The Who

Black Sabbath

Eric Clapton & Phil Collins

Erica Banas is a news blogger who's been covering the rock/classic rock world since 2014. The coolest event she's ever covered in person was the 2021 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. (Sir Paul McCartney inducting Foo Fighters? C'mon now!) She's also well-versed in etiquette and extraordinarily nice. #TransRightsAreHumanRights
