Live is releasing a 25th anniversary reissue of their album Throwing Copper, and on it is a previously unreleased track called "Hold Me Up." However, if you've seen the 2008 film Zack and Miri Make a Porno, then the song will likely be very familiar to you.

Why the track never made it onto a Live album or received any other official release until now is unknown, but Zack and Miri director Kevin Smith explained to The Gate how he was able to obtain the permission to use the unreleased song to soundtrack Zack (Seth Rogen) and Miri (Elizabeth Banks) filming their sex scene:

"It’s an old song that I first heard in ’95, when we were putting together the 'Mallrats' soundtrack. It was actually in the film for the first test screening, but Live decided they wanted to hold onto it as a potential single off their next album (which would follow 'Throwing Copper'). When I was editing 'Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back,' the song had still never surfaced or been released, so I put in a request for it again. Again, I was denied. Third time, apparently, was the charm. Needed a song for that sequence in 'Zack and Miri' and remembered the Live track. This time, the band signed off on us using the track. Took 13 years, but was worth the wait."

The 25th anniversary of Throwing Copper comes out July 19 and is available for pre-order here. See Live celebrate the album on June 7th at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino!
