Evanescence isn't letting the coronavirus pandemic slow them down when it comes to releasing a new studio album this year.

The band announced they'll be dropping their fifth studio album, The Bitter Truth, later this year and that the LP's lead single, "Wasted On You" will come out on Friday, April 24. In fact, they upped the ante by offering 50 fans the opportunity to hear "Wasted On You" before anyone else if they were the first ones to pre-save the track, and they'd get to hear the song on a Zoom call with Amy Lee.

The Bitter Truth is Evanescence's first new studio album since 2017's Synthesis and has been long in the works. When asked about new music coming in 2020 during a May 2019 interview with WMMR's Brent Porche and Sara, Lee said, "I definitely hope so. I don't like to put too much pressure on 'here's the date it's going to come out' until we're down the road pretty well, and we're just starting the writing process. We're excited to have this year be a year for creation and inspiration and just digging back into it together."
