The University of Georgia in Athens (UGA) recently shared a series of "COVID-19 Considerations" to the sexual health section of its University Health Center website. The list has since been removed from the website following repeated shares on social media, but fortunately, someone got a screenshot and shared it to Reddit.

So, what kind of "considerations" did UGA offer up? For starters, "You are your safest sex partner. Practice solo sex, or limit the number of sexual partners you have."

Another tip was, "Wash your hands and objects with warm water for 20 seconds before and after sexual activity."

Perhaps the two considerations that received the most ridicule were the following:

-"Consider wearing a face mask during sex. Heavy breathing and panting can further spread the virus, and wearing a mask can reduce the risk."

-"Avoid kissing and be creative with sexual positions that reduce close face-to-face contact."

Following the removal of the COVID sex tips, UGA spokesman Greg Trevor told the Athens Banner-Herald"The information was consistent with language that appears on multiple health and medical sites across the country, including the Mayo Clinic. However, when the information was mocked, ridiculed and criticized on social media, we decided to take it down."

Mocking and ridicule aside, the tip on washing your hands and "objects" is just good advice even not during a pandemic, so UGA should at least be given credit for something.
