Rick Moranis was punched in the head while walking near Central Park in New York City yesterday (October 1.)

NBC New York reports, "The 67-year-old actor and comedian was reportedly walking when the suspect punched him in the head, knocking Moranis to the ground. According to the NYPD, Moranis took himself to the hospital before later reporting the incident to police at the 20th Precinct. The NYPD says the attack occurred on Central Park West near W 70th Street around 7:30 a.m. Thursday."

NYPD released surveillance footage of the attack via Twitter and advised those with any additional information to DM them @NYPDTips.

Captain America is NOT okay with this:

In fact, many people were fuming and took to Twitter to voice their displeasure upon hearing this news:

Moranis just recently emerged from his private life to start acting again after over two decades away from show business. Back in February, The Hollywood Reporter reported  Moranis would reprise the role of Wayne Szalinski in the series Shrunk, with Josh Gad tapped to play son, Adam Szalinski, who becomes a scientist like his father. Joe Johnston, who directed the original 1989 film, will return to helm the series.

Moranis famously slowed down his acting career to raise his two children after his wife passed away from cancer in 1991.

So, yeah...we hope the monster that senselessly punched Moranis in the head is apprehended by local authorities.
