Bold & Beautiful Soap Opera Added Mannequin to the Main Cast
The Bold and The Beautiful was the first soap opera to resume filming after the pandemic hit. They followed all of the safety precautions including bringing in stunt mannequins for the actors to engage with during love scenes.
That was July. Fast forward to October when producers wrote the mannequin into the show. “She” is now a character with a full storyline and (gulp) more love scenes? (Admittedly, we don’t watch the show so we can’t confirm or deny the latter.)
Yes, we’ve seen some absurd soap opera characters over the years. The short lived show, Passions, takes the cake in this department with witches, living dolls, and an orangutan nurse named Precious. But somehow those misfits were easier to accept than Fauxpe (Fauxpe = Faux + Hope – as the mannequin is supposed to be a double of the show’s real character, Hope).
The blackhole of soap opera blogs we fell into trying to understand the storyline was treacherous. What we learned is that the character who is in love with Fauxpe is named Thomas Forrester. He has experienced numerous traumas both mental with countless loves lost and physical like falling off a cliff and falling into a vat of chemicals (those were separate incidents btw) and those traumas may have lead to mental issues that bloggers are very concerned about. We also learned that Thomas has had an on-and-off relationship with a woman named Hope for years. We won’t dive deep into that history, instead we’ll let you know that they’re not together now, the mannequin looks just like Hope and there is some crazy sh*t going on daily at 1:30p on CBS.
