Happy Birthday Jonathan Davis of Korn!
Happy Birthday to Jonathan Davis from Korn!
The first show I ever saw at the Electric Factory (now Franklin Music Hall) was Korn on their ‘Take a Look in the Mirror’ Tour. I had seen Korn live before on previous Family Values Tours & other festivals like Ozzfest, but only at bigger venues like in beautiful, tropical, downtown Camden, NJ. To see the ferociousness that is Korn in such an ”intimate” atmosphere was a sight and sound I will never forget. I remember standing outside the Factory for a brief moment and hearing the intense rattling of the entire building… I thought the back of the building was going to crumble to pieces. Needless to say I have never missed a Philly area Korn show… even seeing them in other states like Ohio at Rock on the Range and Maine at Rise Above Fest.
These pictures were taking by outstanding photographer Brian “BP” Miller from Chorus Photography at the 2018 MMR*B*Q. Johnathan Davis was performing as a solo artist in support of his debut solo album ‘Black Labyrinth’ which came out the week after we hosted the RBQ. Alice in Chains, Ghost, Stone Temple Pilots, Dorothy, The Record Company, Radkey & local opener In The Presence of Wolves were also on the bill.
It’s been roughly a year since we got Korn’s latest LP ‘Requiem’, so I think they have some touring yet to do on this album cycle. A couple of their earlier albums are celebrating anniversaries this year including their smash hit ‘Follow the Leader’ (25th), ‘Take a Look in the Mirror’ (20th) & ‘The Paradigm Shift’ (10th) – so hopefully some expanded editions of the albums will be forthcoming as well!
