Charles Barkley appeared on CBS' "60 Minutes" on Sunday (March 26) and got real about the current state of the NCAA.
Of course, Barkley is a huge part of coverage for the NCAA tournament and appears daily and nightly as a NBA analyst during the March Madness season. But, Barkley is upset. He has his reasons.
"The college game is a travesty and disgrace," Barkley said in the interview. "I'm so mad now about how we can mess up something so beautiful. We can't pay all these players."
Barkley is referring to name, image and likeness- NIL. "In the next three to five years, we're going to have 25 schools that will dominate the sport because they can afford the players. And the schools that can't afford or won’t pay the players are going to be irrelevant."
He added that he's going to be "honest" about his thoughts on the game, no matter what people think. "I'm gonna be fair. I don't have a hidden agenda. Not many people on TV that you can say that about."
If working remote is your thing, then you'll want to take note of the companies hiring most work-at-home employees right now, and some of them are in Pennsylvania. Obviously, the pandemic also cause a lot of people to decide they would rather permanently work at home as opposed to being in an office each day.
FlexJobs has released its 10th annual "Top 100 Companies to Watch for Remote Jobs" list. In the study, they note that between 2021 and 2022, "FlexJobs saw a 20% increase in the number of remote job listings on the site, compared with just 12% the previous year. And with the wider adoption of remote work came more variety in job titles and career levels. While a majority of positions were for experienced-level jobs (62%), manager and senior-level roles claimed 32% of the remote job listings. The remaining 6% of postings were attributed to entry-level jobs."
This year's list features some companies that have been on the tally a long time and others that are new. As for the job categories, "With remote work shifting from a pandemic-era policy to a permanent business solution throughout 2022, this year’s top career categories reflect the wide-scale adoption of remote work across various industries." The career fields that saw the most significant growth in 2022, according to the study, are accounting & finance (31%), HR & recruiting (22%), and marketing (20%). They note that "modest growth" was also seen among computer & IT, project management and medical & health. One popular remote job field, customer service, did however experience a drop of 6% from 2021.
So, which companies are hiring the most at-home workers right now? Read the list of the top 15 below. I recognize many of these names, but there are a few companies that I don't. Either way, it appear there are great job opportunities at all of these firms. Also, while many of these companies are not based in Pennsylvania, since the work is largely remote, many of them offer jobs for residents. Find the full list and more information via FlexJobs here.
