Noodles Says the Offspring Will Stock Anheuser-Busch, Jack Daniel’s Backstage at Their Gigs
A few days after country singer Travis Tritt said he would be banning Anheuser-Busch products from his shows, the Offspring’s guitarist Noodles swept in to make sure no beverage is left behind.
It started on Twitter when I will be deleting all Anheuser-Busch products from my tour hospitality rider. I know many other artists who are doing the same.
— Travis Tritt (@TravisTritt) April 5, 2023">Tritt declared: “I will be deleting all Anheuser-Busch products from my tour hospitality rider. I know many other artists who are doing the same.”
His reasoning: these products, which include popular beers like Bud Light and Michelob Ultra, are partnering with LGBTQ+ influencers for promotional campaigns. Most recently Anheuser-Busch partnered with trans actress and TikTok star Dylan Mulvaney, and Jack Daniels has an entire series streaming online that features drag performers. To be clear, each of these brands is doing what most major brands do and partnering with a variety of influencers; the campaigns mentioned here are just a couple of the many personalities that endorse their drinks, LGBTQ+ and otherwise.
Why a standard business practice would agitate Tritt so much is perplexing, but our pal Noodles was swift to respond with a tweet of his own: “We are going to be adding Anheiser-Busch products & Jack Daniels to our hospitality rider just to piss off a bunch of dimwitted bigots who fear what they don’t understand. I know a shit-ton of artists who feel exactly the same. (And we all drink A LOT)”
The beverage company has not addressed these tweets outright, but has stated to several outlets that “Anheuser-Busch works with hundreds of influencers across our brands as one of many ways to authentically connect with audiences across various demographics.”
