Pierre’s Got New Music from Halestorm and the Offspring This Friday on WMMR

Get a first listen on Friday during the Workforce Blocks: Pierre’s got brand new songs from two MMRBQ bands, the Offspring and Halestorm

Dexter Holland of the Offspring and Lzzy Hale of Halestorm, both performing live

We’ll see both bands at MMRBQ 2024!

This Friday (6/7) at noon, we're slamming the work laptop shut and raging into the weekend with not one, but two brand new songs on Pierre Robert's show. Get your weekend started right with a double shot of new music from both MMRBQ 2024 headliners: The Offspring and Halestorm.

Horns Up for Halestorm

Halestorm revealed on Instagram that they're collaborating with I Prevail on a track called 'Can U See Me In The Dark.' It's the first new music from the group since their 2022 album Back from the Dead, marking the new chapter of the Pennsylvania rock heroes, led by vocal powerhouse Lzzy Hale. For I Prevail, it's been a similar timeline, with True Power released in 2022 and the band touring relentlessly ever since.

New Rock from the Offspring

The Offspring are pointing their fans to an electrifying countdown clock on their official website. The art is giving Ride the Lightning, which could be a clue to what the band has in store for us sonically. Their guitarist Noodles mentioned in a recent interview that their next album is complete, so we can only assume that the details of the next LP will be revealed on Friday, along with the new tune.

How I hear the new songs on WMMR?

Pierre Robert will play these new songs from both of these bands in the Workforce Blocks on Friday, which begin at 12pm (on Pierre Standard Time, of course). Stream live here on WMMR.com, download the free MMR App, or ask your smart speaker to "Open MMR at noon on Friday."

As always, you can listen on your radio, too - turn those speakers up LOUD for maximum enjoyment.

Love it! Get me to the MMRBQ to hear this s#!% live!

Hell yeah, we wanna hear all of this LIVE too! Tickets for MMRBQ 2024 are on sale now. The festival is on Saturday September 21st at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, NJ.

Leading up to the new rock and the hits from The Offspring and Halestorm that day, we'll see Nothing More, The Warning, P.O.D., Silvertide, Sleep Theory and Jersey Calling on the main stage. The Preston and Steve Side Stage will feature live band karaoke (starring YOU!) and Jacky Bam Bam DJing between sets. Join the party.

Another MMRBQ is in the books. A packed house at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion on the Camden Waterfront enjoyed an incredible day of Rock & Roll and a memorable celebration of the best rock station in Philadelphia.

The star-studded lineup rocked the main stage beginning at 1 pm on a beautiful day in Camadelphia. The list of performers included:

    MMRBQ Performances

MMR’s Local Shots artist of the month Vixen77 got things started on the main stage inside the amphitheatre. They followed it up with an excellent interview with Brent Porche at the MMR broadcast tent on the Ben Franklin Bridge side of Freedom Mortgage Pavilion.

Tigercub, Finger Eleven, Dirty Honey, Ayron Jones, and Larkin Poe gave the crowd their money’s worth with a marathon of excellent performances throughout the afternoon.

Billy Idol looked lively as ever when he led off with “Dancing With Myself” as the penultimate act, and MMRBQ headliner Shinedown didn’t disappoint with the peak of the night.

The Preston & Steve Side Stage

The return of the Preston & Steve side stage gave the loyal listeners of 93.3 WMMR a chance to get involved in MMRBQ 2023. Some excellent karaoke fired up the crowd at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion.

Victoria sang a head-banging rendition “Zombie” by the Cranberries that would’ve made Dolores O'Riordan proud. L.J. sang “The Rooster” by Alice in Chains with authority that you certainly won’t see from many other 16-year-olds. "In The End," "Separate Ways," "Livin' On A Prayer," and "What's Up" were some other crowd favorites.

More from the Pierre Robert Show

From roughly 10:30am to somewhere around 3 (we call it Pierre Standard Time) weekdays Philadelphia rocks with (and loves) Pierre Robert on WMMR. Pierre Robert began his illustrious career at the pioneering progressive rock station KSAN, in his hometown San Francisco, but it’s through his uninterrupted 42-year tenure at Philadelphia‘s legendary WMMR that he’s made his mark. One of the city’s most recognizable celebrities will write about being at the center of its live music scene and greeting his legions of fans as if personal friends in the smallest clubs and largest stadiums.
