Jersey Calling Kick Off a Spectacular MMRBQ 2024 [Interview]
MMRBQ 2024 was nothing short of electrifying, and it all began when Jersey Calling hit the main stage of Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, NJ. After their set, this year’s featured Local Shots band joined Brent Porche live at the broadcast booth to revel in their ‘RBQ moment.
The band, made up of Victoria on vocals, Josh and Sean on guitars and vocals, Vinny on lead guitar, Randy on bass, and John on drums, brought their rowdy Jersey energy to the MMRBQ, and they didn’t disappoint. Kicking things off for the festival crowd is never easy, but this group drew in a pit of die-hard fans early in the day, setting the tone for the rest of the fest.
Brent and the gang talked about their epic performance at last year’s Adjacent Festival, but according to the band, MMRBQ was “more insane.” They were also pumped to debut their new song “Projections” live. With a new album, Parasocial Security, out for almost a year, they’ve been playing nonstop across the tri-state area and beyond.
Vinny’s country-western look was the talk of the day – boots, hat, the whole deal, complete with alien cowboy decals. He joked that every show feels like the last, so he wanted to go all out. Clearly, though, they have more in store for us. These guys know how to mix serious musicianship with a good time, and it shows. We wrapped up by bringing in Randy’s daughter Keira to help us premiere their latest track on air. Check out the video for “Projections” below, and get tour dates and more from Jersey Calling here.
