Peter Wolf

Peter Wolf is a celebrated musician, best known as the dynamic lead vocalist of The J. Geils Band. Growing up near Greenwich Village, Wolf was deeply influenced by the vibrant soul, rhythm & blues, and gospel music scene, often attending performances at the Apollo Theater. He initially pursued painting at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston but soon found his calling in music.

In 1967, Wolf joined The J. Geils Band, where his electrifying stage presence and unique vocal style became the band's hallmark. The group achieved commercial success in the 1970s and 1980s with hits like "Centerfold," "Freeze Frame," and "Love Stinks." Wolf's collaboration with keyboardist Seth Justman was pivotal in crafting the band's signature sound.

After parting ways with the band in 1983, Wolf embarked on a solo career, releasing critically acclaimed albums such as Lights Out and Sleepless. Beyond music, he is a gifted storyteller, as showcased in his memoir Waiting on the Moon. Wolf's career is a testament to his versatility and enduring influence in the world of rock and roll.
