Happy Birthday Brent Smith of Shinedown!

Happy Birthday to Brent Smith from Shinedown! He was born on this day, January 10th back in 1978 in Knoxville, Tennessee. We all know I love “Mah boys” – a love that started 20 years ago with the release of Shinedown’s debut album ‘Leave A Whisper.’ Over the past 20+ years I have been lucky enough to catch Shinedown on tour countless times in cities all over the country… so I figured I would put together a little collage of (possibly) never-before-seen photos of Brent (& I) in no particular order.

This picture was taken in the basement of the Chameleon Club in downtown Lancaster somewhere between 'Leave A Whisper' & their sophomore album 'Us & Them' - so, like 2005-ish if I had to guess. I am pretty sure Silvertide was on this tour as well.

This picture was taken at the House of Blues in Atlantic City in 2013 (I think). If so, this would have been from the Amaryllis tour w/ Bush supporting.

Shinedown played a sold out WMMR Concert Event at the Tower Theatre in Upper Darby as part of their 2015 'Threat to Survival Tour' w/ NothingMore opening the night.

Shinedown played 2 nights at the LEGENDARY Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee in May of 2019 - The picture above was taken on night #1 and the one below was from night #2. These shows were extra special for both Brent & guitarist Zach Myers who are from Knoxville and Memphis respectively. This was the first time Shinedown had ever played the historic 'Mother Church'.

This one was taken at the Hard Rock in Atlantic City in September of 2019 ahead of their show with Papa Roach

This shot was taken inside of a shipping container turned dressing room that was setup in the parking lot of Citizens Bank Park in South Philadelphia back in September of 2020. This was Brent & Zach's first steps back on a live stage since the beginning of the pandemic and the end of Shinedown's previous tour in 2019. And yes, I know... what was I thinking with that beard!?

Right before Shinedown released 'Attention, Attention", they, along with their label Atlantic Records held a media event at Tao Nightclub in New York City. There we heard selections off of their not-yet-released sixth studio album. Afterwards, the band was presented with plaques celebrating the sale of over 10 million singles. It was an unbelievably cool night to say the least!

2023 is going to be a huge year for Shinedown as they continue to tour in support of their massive new album Planet Zero - while their debut album 'Leave A Whisper" will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year as well.
