Meet Philadelphia’s own Nick Perri & The Underground Thieves, MMR’s Local Shots Artist of the Month.
Nick Perri & The Underground Thieves are a rock band from Philadelphia, led by artist, songwriter, and producer Nick Perri.
The band mixes harmonies, scorching guitar work, and a solid rhythm section to create something stellar. They’re more than just a group of friends or a gathering of musicians. They are a family. Nick Perri doesn’t have your typical rags-to-riches breakout story. Over the years, his journey has been complicated and magical. It has been full of the kind of peaks and valleys that a person needs to travel.
“Feeling Good” from the band’s debut LP, Sun Via, hit #45 on the US rock radio charts in 2020. It earned acclaim from industry contemporaries as well as fans from all over the world. The band spent the next two and half years on tour, both headlining and supporting acts such as The Struts, Blackberry Smoke, White Denim, Rick Nielsen, and more.
The group emerged this year with the highly anticipated follow-up. The double album concept album TERRA FIRMA was released on June 16, 2023. The record reached #14 on the iTunes Alternative Albums charts, and has spawned multiple singles including the most recent, “I Want To Be Free.”
TERRA FIRMA is now streaming on all digital platforms and is also available on Vinyl, CD, and Cassette.
