WMMR’s Birthday Wknd: Exclusive Deep Cut Celebrating the Year 2000
We’re celebrating WMMR’s 50th Birthday all year long by focusing each weekend on the music of a specific year. [full list of weekends]
This week it’s the year 2000: Mad Cow Disease, Playstation 2, Meet The Parents, Y2k and “Farmhouse,” the 8th studio album from Phish.
A note from Caseyboy: On May 15th 2000, I was fortunate enough to not only sit the audience at Sonic Recording Studio for Phish’s promotional tour of the album release, but also to bring the band out on to the stage. Farmhouse produced Phish’s only Grammy for Best Instrumental Song with “First Tube” (which we use for our traffic music around 8am every day).
One of my favorite songs is “Gotta Jibboo”, which has an amazing bass and drum groove, along with dazzling guitar and piano play. Lyrically, the song lacks…but it’s still one of my favorites. ENJOY!!!
