Dominy – Jaxon’s Local Shots Artist of the Month
Dominy is a five piece rock band hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The band formed in 2017 with brothers John (guitar) and Alex Dominy (keys, bass) along with Zak Iannetelli (drums) and Michael Youngking (guitar, bass). They recorded ‘Wet Leather’ that summer, capturing the swagger of 70’s era Rolling Stones and Americana Roots Rock.
Dominy quickly gained a reputation for raucous performances infused with irreverent humor. Over the course of 2018 and 2019, Dominy toured extensively, opening up for larger acts like Glam Country star Orville Peck and released two more records, the ‘Dry Leather’ EP and ‘Drugstore Cowboy’. Singer and percussionist Turquoise Cobb joined the band in late 2019, and helped drive the band towards a more refined and eclectic sound. Though unable to tour due to the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic, the band stuck together and continued to evolve artistically in the studio. Dominy is currently putting the finishing touches on their 4th and most ambitious studio album, tentatively titled ‘Titans of True Love’. The new record is slated for release this winter.
