VIDEO: Ohio State Marching Band’s Tribute To Rush
The Ohio State University Marching Band saluted RUSH during the halftime show of the Ohio State vs. Maryland football game on October 9th.
According to The Ohio State News, the performance was in honor of “the early 2020 passing of one of the greatest drummers in history, Neil Peart.” It was also reported that “the band added 20 toms and 20 extra cymbals mounted on four racks to help recreate Peart’s sonic impact. They were at the front of the formation and played by the band’s five percussion alternates for this week.”
During the fifteen minute performance, the marching band performed a medley of “2112,” “YYZ,” “Tom Sawyer,” and “Limelight.” It was accompanied by formations related to Neil’s life and hobbies.
The band was left speechless.
