$1.4million Donated at ACME to Camp Out For Hunger
Your calendar isn’t out of whack, Camp Out for Hunger was almost a month early this year. Between November 1st and 5th, WMMR listeners from across the region generously donated 2.3 million pounds of food and $1,047,527.
But ACME Markets kept the collection going. The supermarket chain kept Preston & Steve’s Camp Out For Hunger as the recipient of their pin pad donations through the Thanksgiving holiday.
On November 30th, Jim Perkins and Dana Ward called in with a new, much higher dollar amount.
After all the collections from all of the ACME Markets were added up, individuals from across the Delaware Valley collectively donated $1,454,710 at the checkout registers.
The new totals for Camp Out For Hunger 2021 are 2,346,686lbs of food and $1,802,237 going to Philabundance.
Thank you Philadelphia.
