What Simone Biles eats helps keep her body strong during tough times, which she’s been facing at the 2024 Olympics. Biles competed through pain in her calf on Sunday (July 28) to earn fantastic scores. Even with a limp and looking like she was in pain, Biles scored an excellent 15.800 on the vault, 14.433 on the uneven bars and 14.600 on the floor. Overall, she garnered an all-around score of 59.566. That was more than three points ahead of her U.S. teammate, Suni Lee. Both Biles and her coach, Cecile Landi, have been playing down the calf pain but have confirmed it. After Sunday’s competition, Landi told reporters that Biles had calf pain a couple weeks before Paris, and that calf pain flared up during Sunday’s events.
So, what does Simone Biles eat in a day? She’s not nearly as picky as some athletes, such as Tom Brady, who famously follows a really strict diet. But, her diet is rich with nutrients that she needs to stay healthy. In an interview with Women’s Health, Biles says that she doesn’t track what she’s eating. She really just uses common sense. “I eat what I feel good with and try not to overeat or stuff myself, because I’m always at the gym,” she told the publication. She added that one reason she doesn’t do tracking is because for gymnasts, especially, tracking “can lead to health problems and eating issues, so I just eat what I know I can and should.”
In a separate interview, she told E! News, Biles said that her husband, Chicago Bears football player Jonathan Owens, also helps her with what she eats. “Jonathan cooks either, like, salmon, chicken,” Biles said. “We eat a lot of chicken, either with broccoli, and like potatoes or mac and cheese, but always veggies with it and we kind of wind down for the night.”
As for more about what Simone Biles eats, for breakfast, Biles tells Women’s Health that she eats, “oatmeal, fruit, toast, a boiled egg, or a granola bar, foods which she also eats to fuel through the day.” They add that when she has more time, she’ll cook “protein waffles with chocolate chips or cinnamon rolls.” That sounds amazing. As for protein shakes, her pick is Core Power Protein Shake, according to the publication. The “less healthy” meals that she enjoys include pizza or fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. When it comes to dessert, while Biles doesn’t have a sweet tooth, she tells the publication that she does “bake chocolate chip cookies myself and whenever I do I usually make s’mores cookies.” So, there’s what Simone Biles eats.
