In honor of National Radio Day, here’s a Top 5 Memorable Moments with MMR!

National Radio Day

On August 20, National Radio Day recognizes the great invention of the radio. Celebrate the news, information, music, and stories carried across the airwaves.

WMMR was born on April 29, 1968, with The Marconi Experiment. Since then, we’ve had years of radio fun. It has been a pleasure to be a part of it all!

You know the saying do what you love and you’ll never work a day of your life? Well, WMMR is a testament to that! I’m so grateful that I get to crack the microphone with all of you every weeknight and share in some of the best moments of not just my career… but my life!

Thank YOU for believing in me and taking our station to the next level! You keep this train wreck show a-rollin’! I can’t wait to do it again and again…

I went on a tour of the Birthplace of Rock & Roll, SUN RECORDS in Memphis!! I had a chat with Sun Manager/Tour Guide Nina Jones. We recorded a segment inside the actual control room, breathing the same air as Elvis, Howlin’ Wolf, Johnny Cash, B.B. King, Rufus Thomas, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis… What an honor!

  • Always Welcoming Back The Golden Voice, John Waite

I always have the privilege of being at Stones shows, or being part of them in some way, through my job. We are so lucky to have this band in our lifetime. We will never ever see a band like this again. Long Live The Rolling Stones!!!

  • Hanging Out With Black Crowes In Studio/On Air

jacky bambam and the black crowes in studio

I got invited by Pierre Robert to chat live and in the studio with the one and only Black Crowes about their “Happiness Bastards Tour” and their stop at The Met in Philly! We talked about Bammy (Chris’ adorable Jamaican pup), blues musicians we love, and much more. Thanks to Mark Didida for making sure those rock and roll animals flew into town and crashed our WMMR studios.
