Port Royal Speedway
Nicknamed “Speed Palace”, Port Royal Speedway is a half-mile dirt track located in Port Royal, Pennsylvania. It is one of the most popular dirt tracks in the United States, and has hosted some of the biggest names in racing, including Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, and Kyle Larson.
The speedway was opened in 1938, and has been in continuous operation ever since.
Port Royal Speedway is known for its high-banked clay surface, which provides a challenging racing surface for drivers. The track also has a reputation for being very fair, and drivers often say that it is one of the best-paying tracks in the country.
The speedway hosts a variety of racing events throughout the year, including sprint cars, late models, and modifieds. It is also a popular venue for special events, such as the World of Outlaws and the Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek. It has hosted the World of Outlaws 109 times, more than any other track. The track’s record lap speed is 138.264 mph, set by Steve Kinser in 1998. The track’s most popular driver is Lance Dewease, who has won 121 races at the speedway.
