Beartooth perform at Franklin Music Hall in Philly.

Beartooth took over the Franklin Music Hall last Tuesday (1/23). The place was packed for the Ohio rockers, who roared back onto the scene with their fifth album The Surface this past fall. The setlist, which you can see in full below, ran the gamut from screaming ragers to heartfelt acoustic numbers. Such is the dynamic nature of Beartooth, whose songs have always balanced somewhere between melodic and harsh, both in musicality and message.

The Plot In You, who also hail from Ohio, and Invert Animate opened the night. First up, though, was Sleep Theory, our new friends here at WMMR. Before they took the stage at night, Sleep Theory had an early morning with the Preston & Steve Show, and the conversation ranged from singer Cullen Moore’s military background to the band’s origin story and the surprisingly simple way that the group’s name was born. They also had some Overwatch tips for Preston.

Sleep Theory performed stripped down versions of “Gone Or Staying” and their latest single “Numb” in our studio. Watch that here via Preston & Steve’s daily YouTube stream.

Big thanks to Digital Noise Mag for the epic shots below of all four bands at FMH! Check MMR’s Concert Calendar for more upcoming shows.
