The Dave Matthews Band wrapped up their 2023 North American Tour with a two-night stand at the “World’s Most Famous Arena” Madison Square Garden in New York City. Both shows were sold-out to the rafters with DMB fans from all over the country.
I wish I had an exact number of how many times I have seen the DMB over the years, somewhere in the 120-130 range, however, this was my first-time seeing Dave at the legendary Garden. This was my fifth show ever at MSG (U2, Billy Joel, David Gilmour, Rage Against the Machine, & DMB)
The DMB brought their highly successful, annual summer tour to the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, NJ back in July for two unforgettable ‘MMR concert events. Dave & the fellas have been touring in support of their 10th studio album Walk Around the Moon, which came out in May of this year.
Over the span of the two nights at MSG, Dave welcomed special guests Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, Trombone Shorty, Cory Wong, and others. We witnessed some cool cover songs too, including “The Weight” (The Band), “All Along the Watchtower” (Bob Dylan), “Come Together” (The Beatles), “Brick House” (Commodores), “Sledgehammer” (Peter Gabriel), and “Fool in the Rain” (Led Zeppelin).
The Dave Mattews Band has two more shows lined-up before the end of the year in Dave’s home country of South Africa. From there Dave & Tim make their annual trek to Mexico for a series of shows in February, followed by a month-long tour of Europe starting in April.
