The Philadelphia Flyers are celebrating the start of their run for the Stanley Cup with their summer-long Community Caravan. On Wednesday August 5th, the Caravan hit Glenside, for a three-mile loop of residential streets in Abington Township.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the hockey club has sidelined the hands-on activities of years’ past, transforming the Community Caravan into a socially-distant mobile pep rally featuring DJ Hollywood, In-Arena Host Andrea Helfrich, Flyers Alumni, the Flyers Ice Team and, of course, Gritty on a tandem bike with his Gritty guards! The Caravan will also include exclusive giveaways with a summertime twist that will help fans gear up for playoffs including beach balls, bucket hats, Frisbees, kites and sunglasses.
Fans enjoying the Caravan are encouraged to practice safe social-distancing procedures when receiving giveaways and spectating.
Details on Caravan stops can be found online at PhiladelphiaFlyers.com and updates on locations and times can be found by following @FlyersCommunity on Twitter.
