Memorial Day Weekend 2023 is officially in the books! Preston & Steve kicked-off the ‘Unofficial Start of Summer’ at Keenan’s in North Wildwood with all of the shenanigans and tomfoolery you could ever imagine and much, much more!
From there, Pierre Robert launched our “Vinylly Summer Weekend” from our studios in Bala Cynwyd. Legendary album sides on dusty, scratchy, wonderful vinyl! I loved listening to our Weekend Warriors rocking out to whole album sides, just drop the needle and go! They also inspired me to spin the black circle a couple of times this weekend as well.
The Memorial Day Weekend festivities continued at Icona’s BEAUTIFUL Diamond Beach resort, where I broadcast my “Four Hour Happy Hour” show from Icona’s Star Beach Bar. The fellas in Sons of Thunder provided us with a ton of great live music as we dipped our toes in the sand and enjoyed some tropical beverages. The ‘Meat Behind the Beat’ Preston Elliot even joined us for the broadcast, even hopping up on stage with Sons of Thunder for a ripping rendition of “Proud Mary” among others.
Special shout out to everyone that came from the Keenan’s broadcast over to the Icona Diamond Beach broadcast, for you are the true champions and troopers of the day. Some of whom, were still crusty from the ‘Baptism of Beer’ 5-6 hours earlier! We gave away a ton of MMR*B*Q tickets for the big show on Saturday September 16th, in Camden at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion, congratulations to all of the winners!
