Preston and Steve’s Campout for Hunger day #3 was a BLAST! Literally!

I kicked off my day with a Zoom interview speaking with Chad Kroeger of Nickelback ahead of the release of their new album GET ROLLIN’ which comes out on 11/18. Towards the tail end of the interview, I had mentioned to Chad that we are in the midst of PnS’ 25th annual Campout for Hunger and would he mind giving a shout out to Nickelback Nation to come out and donate to our friends and neighbors in need…  not only did he send out the call to the Nickelback troops, Chad, himself donated $5000.00 towards Campout! $5k!!! So, a big Thank You to Chad Kroeger for the very kind and thoughtful donation!

On to the Food Trucks and FIREWORKS! We had doubled the number of food trucks from last year’s F&F night and the parking lot of Xfinity Live never smelled so good! We had a 6ft tall piece of corn walk into our Bimbo Bakeries broadcast tent with some delicious street corn. There was everything from Lobster Rolls to Kettle Corn to Tacos, BBQ and so much more! Thanks to all of the food trucks for coming out to Campout on such a beautiful fall evening. Hope to see you all… and smell you all next year!

Thanks to Celebration Fireworks for yet another unbelievable display! Blasting our favorite tunes from AC/DC to Metallica and beyond as they lit up the night sky over the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia. It was so great to see the awe in the eyes and the smiles on the faces of the kids and adults alike. The huge fireballs are such a sight to see in person!

Preston and Steve’s Campout for Hunger 2022 is hitting the home stretch and we still very much need your generous donations. Here is more information on how to donate, when and where.

Here are some incentives for Today/Thursday to come on down and make a donation to Campout and Philabundance:

Want to go to the Birds game Monday night? Make a donation of 336 pounds or more by 8pm on Today (11/10), and you can register for your chance to win a pair of tickets to Monday night’s game against the Washington Commanders at the Linc. When you drop off your donation of at least 336 pounds, mention to the volunteers that you want to help Chunky SACK HUNGER and they’ll get you registered. 336 pounds is the weight of Defensive Tackle Jordan Davis, who also happens to be a member of the CHUNKY SACKS HUNGER SOUP SQUAD.  Made possible by CAMPBELL’S CHUNKY SOUP, who is on a mission to “SACK HUNGER” in our community.

ALSO…

Anyone who makes a food donation of over 25 pounds can get a pair of Flyers tickets for their game this Sunday vs. Dallas at Wells Fargo Center. Puck drops at 1pm!

Stop by the Acme Donate-And-Go tent on site here at campout to grab some much-needed food to donate to Preston & Steve’s Campout For Hunger. It’s really easy & convenient!

I will be broadcasting live from Campout For Hunger TODAY 3p-7p – Hope to see you out! -bp
