[PHOTOS] Bush & Candlebox at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City

Gavin Rossdale and the fellas from Bush brought their ‘Art of Survival’ 2023 tour to Ovation Hall at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City on Friday night. Seattle’s own Candlebox opened the show with a tight, but very entertaining 45-minute set, boasting their smash hits like ‘You’, ‘Far Behind’, ‘Change’ & ‘Cover Me’. They also dipped into their latest album “Wolves” that came out in September of 2021. This year (2023) marks the 30^th anniversary of the release of Candlebox’s self-titled debut album – that has since gone on to sell close to 5 million copies.

Special shout out to Candlebox lead guitarist Brian Quinn, a Philly area native, who has been with the band since 2015 and recorded the last two studio albums (‘Disappearing in Airports’ and ‘Wolves’) with Kevin Martin and boys. You may remember Quinny from Philly hard-rock bands Octane and Fosterchild. And when not out on the road, you can catch him playing local establishments like the Bridgeport Rib House & Screwballs in King of Prussia. A very special Happy Birthday to Brian's Mom Barbara, who was celebrating her 80th birthday with us in Atlantic City on Friday night too!

Headliners, Bush, took the stage shortly after 10pm, kicking off their set with a brand-new tune called “Identity” off of their new, 9^th, studio album ‘Art of Survival’. Bush delivered a hits-packed set, featuring crowd favorites such as ‘Machinehead’, ‘The Chemicals Between Us’, ‘Everything Zen’ & ‘Little Things’. Even some of their newer songs like ‘Bullet Holes’, ‘The Sound of Winter’ & ‘More Than Machines’ all had the crowed at Ovation Hall singing along as loudly as they could! Gavin even took a stroll through the crowd during one of the songs, running all the way up to the “cheap seats” to say hello to the near-sold-out crowd. The encore kicked off with a fantastic rendition of Bush’s newer tune ‘The Kingdom’ followed up with crowd favorites ‘Glycerine’ & ‘Comedown’ to wrap up the night with a big ol’ sing-along.
