The 2023 NFL playoffs are officially underway with the divisional rounds set for this weekend. Our NFC East Champion Philadelphia Eagles will be taking on the New York Football Giants at Lincoln Financial Field this Saturday night at 8:15pm. These two NFC East rivals will be facing off for the third time this season with the Birds sweeping the regular season contests against the G-men. This will mark the 25th time in NFL history that a team has swept its divisional rival in the regular season and then faced them again in the playoffs. The team that went 2-0 during the regular season has pulled off the three-game sweep 15 out of 24 times. With the Eagles, Giants & Cowboys all still alive this postseason, this marks the first time since the NFC Central in 1997 that one division sent three teams to the second round.
As the playoff excitement continues to swell around the Delaware Valley, I figured what better time than now to unearth an almost decade-and-a-half old photo of me modeling in the NFL Shop catalog. Yes, this is very much legit (lol). The company that oversaw the photoshoot for the NFL was based out of the King of Prussia area, and I had been doing some side work for them constructing furniture that was to be photographed for popular catalogs seen around the world. One of the project managers was in need of a more “rugged” look for the camouflage jersey line… and guess who they chose?! I must give credit where credit is due… modeling is not as easy as one would think. Stand there, smile, take the picture… right? Hair, make-up, the whole deal… and try not to look goofy in the process! I had a ton of fun doing the shoot – and this was the final shot that was used for the 2010-2011 NFL Shop Catalog. I didn’t have a choice of what team or player jersey I could wear; they gave me Aaron Rodgers – who just happened to win Super Bowl XLV MVP in 2011… his one and only appearance in the big game.
