The Kiszka brothers of Greta Van Fleet brought their “Starcatcher World Tour” to the Wells Fargo Center on September 19 part of yet another huge MMR concert event.
The band is touring in support of their brand-new, third studio album Starcatcher, released two short months ago. We have been playing the lead-off single “Meeting the Master” and the latest single “The Falling Sky” heavily on MMR.
Prior to the band hitting the stage, Greta Van Fleet kicked off the show with a “Starcatcher Overture”, an orchestral medley of songs from GVF’s Starcatcher album. It led them into an ripping version of their latest single “The Falling Sky” to start their set. Within the first few songs, we also heard rousing renditions of “Lover, Leaver (Taker, Believer),” “Meeting the Master,” “Heat Above,” and “Highway Tune.”
During Danny Wagner’s killer drum solo, the Kiszka brothers made their way to a second stage, the acoustic b-stage, towards the back of the house at the Wells Fargo Center for a short set of acoustic songs, including the tour debut of “Tears of Rain” off Greta’s sophomore album The Battle at Garden’s Gate. I attached the full video below for you to check out.
After the acoustic set, Greta Van Fleet made their way back to the main stage for a set of tunes that really accentuated how talented of musicians these guys are, with ripping, extended, anthemic solos and jams. They even kicked off their encore set with a version of George Gershwin’s “Rapsody in Blue,” a song that was written in 1924, almost 100 years ago! How cool?!
Greta had quite a bit of pyrotechnics as well, further adding to the excitement and the overall experience! GVF is always a must-see live!
