Happy Birthday to David Draiman of Disturbed! He was born on this day March 13th, back in 1973 in Brooklyn, New York. Before David Draiman joined Disturbed, guitarist Dan Donegan, drummer Mike Wengren and bassist Steve Kmak were in a band called Brawl. The band wanted to use the name Crawl, but it was already being used by another band. Original vocalist Erich Awalt left the project right after the recording of their demo tape. The remaining members posted an advertisement in the “Illinois Entertainer” looking for a new singer and David answered the newspaper ad after going to twenty other auditions that month. David officially joined the remaining 3 members of Brawl in 1996 and with his suggestion, they changed their name to Disturbed.

David has appeared on every Disturbed release since their debut album in 2000 ‘The Sickness’. Since then, Disturbed has released 8 studio albums selling upwards of 20 million records worldwide. 5 of those albums consecutively debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.  2023 also marks the 10th anniversary of the release of his project Device – who played the MMR*B*Q that year in support of their self-titled debut.
