Record Store Day happens a couple of times a year – the day audiophiles young and old rush to their local, mom & pop, record shops to pick up their favorite artist on a limited edition this, or on a colored that… oh, and a poster! I am 100% guilty of doing it myself!
I always like adding new, pieces to the collection… and if they are rare, even better! The Record Store Day information we have on our website shows you how many copies of each release will be out in “the wild” thus the overall rarity of the item itself. I think colored vinyl records are super cool and give the spinning process a neat, extra element to the experience.
Papa Roach - Ego Trip RSD Edition
The haul this time around had a cool mix of new and old. On the new side, I got Papa Roach’s 2022 release ‘Ego Trip’ (“Kill The Noise”, “Swerve”, “No Apologies” & more) on a first pressing, Seafoam Wave color variant platter – it also came with a bonus, acoustic 7” disc.
Dream Widow/Foo Fighters 'Studio 666' Soundtrack
From the mega-blockbuster (jk) horror flick ‘Studio 666’, I also got the Foo Fighters… ahem, sorry… Dream Widow’s new album, which is out for the first time on vinyl.
The Doors - Paris Blues
On the older side, I got The Doors ‘Paris Blues’ – featuring the last known unreleased Doors song of the same name. It also includes live recordings of the band with Albert King and other unreleased live tracks on numbered, blue colored vinyl.
Jefferson Airplane Live
Last and certainly not lease is this historic, killer live performance from Jefferson Airplane at the 1967 Monterey International Pop Festival – pressed on blue-smoke vinyl – with the infamous introduction by Jerry Garcia. Check out the Western Union Telegram from the great Bill Graham on the back too!
