It’s Back-To-School season for college students, and now is the perfect time for folks to start looking at upgrades for their laptops, tablets, and even WIFI routers. Here are some Must Have tech products for college students to get you back-to-school ready.

  • HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 15

Laptops are essentially in college. Not only do most students take notes on their laptops during lectures nowadays, but they’re also using them for streaming Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max… you get the picture.

So having a computer that is lightweight for carrying, fast charging, that’s affordable is imperative. This HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 15 can achieve those things for you. It adapts to you, so you are productive at every angle and has a very convenient fast charge.

  • HP ENVY x360 Convertible Laptop

If you’re on more of the design track in school, you’ll need something that can function as both a sketchpad and a helpful resource for schoolwork. The HP Envy x360 Convertible Laptop is built with design in mind. The 360-degree hinge allows you to use the laptop as a design pad via touch or computer pen. The laptop also has a long battery life so you can work for long periods of time without being connected to a cord.

  • HP Chromebook

When it comes to fast start-ups, good security, and Google connectivity, the Chromebook is where it’s at. If you’re not familiar with Chromebooks, they’re on the less expensive side of laptops. They’re great for folks who want to be connected to their Google Accounts and still have functionalities for web surfing but overall are for folks who don’t need a lot of bells and whistles. This is great for students who just need a standard, inexpensive laptop to get them through classes.

  • Microsoft Office 2019 Home & Student

Do yourself a favor and get Microsoft Office. Seriously! It might sound weird, but honestly, you will most likely need it for writing papers.

  • HP M27f FHD Monitor

For the longest time, I only used one monitor. And then I learned about all the possibilities that come with having dual screens and I wish someone had told me in college how great it would be. Now, I’m a multi-tasker, meaning that I used to watch Netflix or listen to music while I did papers and other assignments. If I had dual screens, via a second monitor I could conveniently connect to you bet I would have been using it for those purposes.

But having a second monitor can be great for other reasons too. Think about the fact that you can have one screen displaying your word document while the other has the article you’re using for research. Seriously, that might just shave some time off writing those long research papers so you don’t have to flop back and forth.

  • Sony WF-1000XM3 Industry Leading Noise Canceling Truly Wireless Earbuds

It should go without saying, but sometimes you will need headphones in college. Whether it’s to prevent disrupting your room while you watch TV or just to listen to music on your walks across campus or while studying, having a good pair of headphones will be paramount. These Sony wireless earbuds are noise-canceling which makes them even more appealing because you can shut out any noise while you study.

  • Smart WiFi Router

Yes, your campus will most likely have WiFi, but honestly, it might get slow at times. Buying a WiFi router for yourself, and your roommates could make a huge difference while studying, streaming, etc. This one from Amazon also works with Alexa!

  • My Passport Ultra External Hard Drive

While, I don’t have this hard drive exactly, I do have a My Passport external hard drive in a similar model and I LOVE IT! If you’re going into any creative field where you need to house large video or audio files (like I did) an external hard drive is going to save your life more times you can count. This one is affordable, has large amounts of space, like up to 5 TBs or space, and comes in Mac or PC options depending on your computer. Overall, this is a great have and a really solid tech product for college students.

  • Wireless Computer Mouse

I truly do not know how I survived college only using my laptop’s trackpad for 3 years, but the minute I bought a wireless mouse the game changed. Now, I wasn’t lugging it to every class, but while I did homework and studying in the library a wireless mouse was so much better than the trackpad. This one from Logitech is really affordable, I’ve had mine for over 2 years and have had no issues.

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (Pen Included)

If you’re a digital designer, you might be looking for something that is more tablet-like in addition to a laptop. Totally get that! This Samsung Galaxy tablet might be the right fit for you. It’s slim and lightweight so it can travel with you on the go very easily. It has a long-lasting battery that can allow you to stream for up to 12 hours and a quick charge USB-C port. And it comes with an S-Pen so you can do all the digital designing and creating you need right on the tablet itself.

  • Roku Express 4K+

How about some tech products for college students that may not be for class? I’m very partial to the Roku. I’ve had one for a few years now and I really like the ease of it. These are great for students because not only do they allow you to have multiple streaming service apps in one spot, but they also have some great content on their Roku channel. You can even access Roku channels through the app.

  • HP Printer

It may feel odd to bring a printer with you to school, but you might need it. I had to print a lot in college, and I usually blew through the allotted printing credits within a month or two of the semesters. It was so much easier to have access to a printer in my dorm and apartment as well because I didn’t have to trek across campus to find the printers before heading off to class.

This HP printer is a great fit for college students as it isn’t very large, and you can also get 6 months of ink free with HP Plus.
