Bill Murray’s Hilarious Cease-And-Desist Letter From The Doobie Brothers
The Doobie Brothers may be demanding Bill Murray pay for the use of their song in his latest golf apparel commercial, or they just found a great way to bring attention to the brand.
The band’s lawyer, Peter T. Paterno, wrote a rather amusing letter to Mr. Murray. The only pseudo-serious sounding complaint is filled with jabs like: “This is the part where I’m supposed to cite the United States Copyright Act, excoriate you for not complying with some subparagraph that I’m too lazy to look up and threaten you with eternal damnation for doing so. But you already earned that with those Garfield movies. And you already know you can’t use music in ads without paying for it.”
It was Tweeted out by staffer from The Hollywood Reporter.
