Would You Try The #TargetChallenge?
The Preston and Steve Show was interested – and perhaps riddled– by the TikTok Christmas idea that Nick McIlwain brought to the table on this morning’s show. During the show, Nick revealed what he and his girlfriend are going to be doing this Christmas season.
Nick’s Christmas gift giving this year comes from a popular TikTok trend where a couple buys gifts for each other based on a series of prompts, such as their favorite snack, their favorite drink, something to do together, etc. Nick said that there was a two-hundred-dollar limit to the gift giving, but the prices can vary.
The main question that the gang had was whether this was truly a Christmas gift giving idea, or if it was an idea for a comfy fun date night. His take on Christmas gift giving this year caused listeners to call in and explain that this is more of a date idea than a Christmas idea. Harsh, dude.
@sarahbetts the last one was mean 🥺😅 who do you wanna do this with? #fyp #foodchallenge #buyforeachother #surprise

The trend launched to fame when viral TikToker Sarah Betts tried this trend with her boyfriend as a date idea. They got each other a variety of different gifts based on the other’s favorite things. From sushi and ramen, to rosé and cold brew coffees, they went through their list gifting things to one another. The video had nearly eight hundred thousand likes, and around 5.6 million views.
Another date idea that was mentioned during the show is to take your significant other to a place like Walmart, and walk to different sections of the store. While doing this, one person walks down the snack aisle (or the movie aisle, frozen food aisle, etc.) holding their arm out, and the other person says stop and the have to grab the first item they see. Continue this until you have everything for a fun date night!
So, the question remains: Is this enough to be a Christmas gift idea?
