6yr Old Cheddar Wiz Needs Your Help To Become The Next Mullet Champion
Rory hails from West Pottstown. He’s 6 years old. He goes by the nickname, “Cheddar Wiz”, and he’s cooler than all of us.

About a year ago, Rory asked the barber to cut his hair into a mullet style. The request was a surprise to everyone – especially mom. When she asked Rory why he wanted a mullet, he said it’s “because he thinks it looks cool on him, but also because it keeps his neck warm.”
This first grader and massive Philly sports is the only kid in school with a mullet. He loves cheesesteaks and his baseball team refers to his mullet as “cheddar” blowing in the wind when he runs. Hence the nickname.
Cheddar Wiz is vying to become to the 2023 Kid Mullet Champ. The Mullet Champion contest travels across the country annually in search of the wildest mullets around. They hold live contests in various cities where contestants can show off their impressive hairdos in front the crowd. The USA Mullet Championship has five categories: Mens, Teens, Kids, 55+, and Femullets.
Beyond crowing the Mullet Champions each year, the organization also raises money for charity. 100% of their proceeds go to Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors, a nonprofit dedicated to providing critically injured United States Military Veterans with injury-specific, accessible, and mortgage-free homes.
Rory has already collected over $1000 in honor of his grandfather who was in the Air Force.
Cheddar Wiz is one of 25 mullets moving on to Round 3 in the Kids category. Voting begins on August 7th and he needs your help! Judges are looking at more than just the total number of votes. They will also factor in the donations and mullet style. Extra points come from type of mullet, length, and creativity.
The top prize for Mullet Champion is $5,000. Second place gets $1,000 and third gets $500. Rory’s mom thinks that the main reason he entered the contest is to win the prize and buy his sister a llama.

Rory confirmed that theory on The Preston & Steve Show. He told the hosts that when he wins, he plans on treating his family to wing night at Little Oley Tavern and buy an alpaca for his sister. When asked if he will get something for himself and he said “maybe some baseball stuff or a Phillies ticket.”(just one).
