Brent Smith, Zach Myers of Shinedown Chat With Pierre Robert and Brent Porche [VIDEO]
The 2023 MMR*B*Q was an incredible day from beginning to end that we got to share with so many of our friends and family. From all of you, our great listeners, to all the stellar and superbly talented bands and artists: THANK YOU for being part of such a wonderful day!
As we know, when it comes to family, Brent Smith, Zach Myers, and the fellas in Shinedown have been with us at WMMR since day 1. We consider them family.
Shinedown frontman Brent Smith gave WMMR not one but two amazing mentions from the stage. He stated how MMR was among the very first to play their music over 20 years ago. Since then, Shinedown has played several big ‘MMR concert events over the years. That includes Band on a Boad and 4 MMR*B*Q’s, headlining two of them including 2023. This year was one of the absolute BEST performances I have ever seen from them.
Brent & Zach took some time to chat with WMMR’s Pierre Robert & Brent Porche backstage at the 2023 MMR*B*Q. It was like old friends catching up after not seeing each other for a while.
Interview with Brent Smith & Zach Myers
Some of the topics discussed included more on their much talked about impromptu acoustic performance in a field in Virgina after severe weather forced a cancellation. Brent and Zach, along with the rest of Shinedown, members of Papa Roach, and Oliver Anthony had a very moving sing-along with about 6,000+ festival attendees that happened to be in the right place at the right time.
The fellas also discussed their brand-new single “A Symptom of Being Human,” what it means to them to be able to perform it on “Live with Kelly & Mark.” They also talked about the importance of mental health and why they have been making it a priority to talk about it in interviews, on stage, and in songs for over 20 years now.
Hear these stories and many more as Brent and Zach chat it up with Pierre and Brent prior to Shinedown absolutely crushing the stage in Camden.
Don’t forget to check out the full, live performances of both “A Symptom of Being Human” and “Cut the Cord” from this year’s MMR*B*Q which you can view here.
