Historic Elk Creek Farm in New Hope Hits the Real Estate Market for $10.5M
A historic property, the Elk Creek Farm in New Hope, Pennsylvania, is on the real estate market for $10.5 million. According to Ryan Mulligan of the Philadelphia Business Journal, it is the most expensive property currently available in the Bucks County residential housing market.
Elk Creek Farm, which covers about 188 acres, was originally part of William Penn’s land grant. It currently serves as a breeding farm for Black Angus cattle. The property is being marketed as a turnkey agricultural opportunity and multi-generational estate in its real estate listing. Philanthropist James Maguire, founder of Philadelphia Insurance and the Maguire Foundation, owns Elk Creek Farm. Maguire is well-known in the Greater Philadelphia area for his philanthropy.
The main residence on the property, built in 1750, is about 3,800 square feet and includes five bedrooms and four bathrooms. Several outbuildings feature additional living spaces. Additional structures on the property include a Victorian guest home, a bank barn with a loft apartment, a two-bedroom cottage, and recreational features, including greenhouses, ponds, a heated pool, and a tennis court.
Listing agent Angie Haug told the Philadelphia Business Journal she believes that the sale of Elk Creek Farm could potentially set a new record for a residential real estate transaction in Bucks County.
In recent years, New Hope has become a sought-after retreat for many A-list celebrities, thanks to its location between Philadelphia and Manhattan. In fact, New Hope is beginning to rival the Hamptons on Long Island.
According to a New York Post report, Yolanda Hadid started an interest in New Hope when she purchased a 32-acre property in 2017 to be closer to her daughters, models Gigi and Bella Hadid. Bucks County has also welcomed celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio, Julianne Moore, and Sydney Sweeney, who have shot films here.
