Be sure to tune into Pierre Robert’s conversation with Mike Campbell live in studio THIS Thursday at 3:30pm! Get all the details HERE.

Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs are riding high following the release of their sophomore record, External Combustion (now available via BMG). The band, consisting of Jason Sinay (guitars, Matt Laug (drums), and Lance Morrison (bass) are currently embarking on a two month tour in support of the record prior to their run of arena and amphitheater shows with Chris Stapleton this summer. Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs will be in the Philadelphia area this Thursday evening for a show at the University City venue World Café Live.

Campbell is of course known for his almost 50 year tenure playing with the legendary Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers prior to Petty’s unexpected passing in 2017; co-writing and recording some of the band’s most popular tracks including “Here Comes My Girl”, “Runnin’ Down A Dream”, “You Got Lucky”, and many more. Aside from his illustrious work with Petty, Campbell has also collaborated with rock and roll icons such as Stevie Nicks, Don Henley, and most recently Fleetwood Mac; filling in for Lindsay Buckingham after his virulent departure from the band in 2018.

The Dirty Knobs, “…a classic rock portmanteau, invoking eastward-looking Beatles, the Who, the Byrds, and the Rolling Stones” (The New York Times), is the perfect addition to Campbell’s ever evolving and long lasting career.
