Pierre Robert here with a few photos for you from a fantastic show with Collective Soul last week at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion. The band were in Camden, NJ on Friday, August 16th as part of a tour with Hootie and the Blowfish.
WMMR has been spinning Collective Soul’s music for decades now, and the band are dear friends of this radio station. They’ve played many an MMR Concert Event, plus other fun events like MMaRchive Sessions, the MMRBQ, and Preston and Steve’s Cardboard Classic earlier this year. I was surprised and humbled when singer Ed Roland spotted me in the crowd on Friday night and gave me a shout out. He was so kind, and you can see video of that moment on my Instagram. It moved me to tears!
Later that night, before Hootie and the Blowfish took the stage, I had the honor of taking a celebratory shot with both bands. It’s tradition for them to line up a bunch of shots for the bands and crew and their friends before they perform. (Maybe we should make this a crossover tradition with Preston and Steve; that’d make for some interesting radio!)
