The Somerdale Fire Department hosted me for a tour and an extra special ride and it could not have been more FUN!
This South Jersey fire department welcomed me with open arms on Monday, November 27, 2023. WMMR Rock Writer Gina C's uncle Steve Daniels is the Deputy Chief of the Somerdale Fire Department. He has spent 32 years in fire service, and 27 of those years have been with Somerdale. He showed me around and told me all kinds of amazing things.
I call him UNCLE STEVE! Uncle Steve brought me around and introduced me to all the firefighters on Monday night. It was after their weekly meeting and drills.
The fire department has so many firefighters; their service is 100% volunteer! I learned so much about them and all they do for the community. Then, they took me for a ride on a 1974 FIRE TRUCK called "The Mack." Guess where they took me? THE GALAXY! Well, now it's a pet store, but it was The Galaxy, a club I snuck into many times as a kid. I saw all of my favorites there (Cinderella and Britny Fox).
Coming up, they have a Blood Drive on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. They also have a Toy and Train Collectable Show on Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Head over to the Somerdale Firehouse to support these great firefighters!
