With the Eagles season over, calls for Nick Sirianni to be fired have begun. And it is hard to argue with. After starting 10-1, the Eagles lost 6 of their last 7, including an embarrassing final performance in the playoffs. The Bucs are not a very good team. They only made the playoffs because of how bad the NFC South is. But even they outplayed the Eagles in every aspect of the game. Their offense moved the ball on the Eagles all game long. And all the Eagles could muster on offense was a measly 9 points. A lot of the blame for that is falling right on the Eagles Head Coach.

It was a continuation of all the issues the Eagles have had since December. They couldn’t handle a blitz, and their secondary was getting ripped apart like wet tissue paper. The effort was gross, as we saw guys missing tackles left and right, and taking terrible routes to the ball carrier. It was a truly embarrassing end to a truly embarrassing season. To the point there probably needs to be big changes before next season.

But if Nick Sirianni does go, who will replace him? Will they go with one of the big names on the market? Should they hire one of the young Offensive Coordinators around the league? Or will it be an out-of-nowhere hire like it has been the last two times they needed a new Coach?

Some of these options might appeal to Eagles fans, others not so much. One name in particular on this list will likely have Eagles fans pissed at me just for suggesting it. But these are not necessarily the 12 guys I think would be best. They are 12 names that either make sense or are already drawing interest in the Head Coach market from other teams.

Here are 12 candidates to be the Eagles Head Coach after Nick Sirianni:

• Bill Belichick- Former Patriots HC

  The name getting thrown around for every team in need of a coach is Bill Belichick. And it is easy to see why. When the greatest coach in NFL history is on the market, every team is going to want a chance to hire him. But is he a realistic option for them? They already have the franchise QB, so that is a nice head start. At Bill’s age, he will likely want to go to a team that can win now. And maybe with better coaching the Eagles can contend next year. There are questions if he is over the hill though. The Patriots have been bad since Tom Brady left. But at the very least, you need to talk to him. And if the eagles think he still has another few runs in him, he should be at the top of their wish list.

• Jim Harbaugh- Michigan HC

  After Bill, the 2nd biggest name on the market is Harbaugh. He is coming off finally getting Michigan over the hump to win a National Title. But with sanctions coming to Michigan, many think Harbaugh will jump ship and make the move back to the NFL. He got the 49ers to a Super Bowl the last time he coached in the pros. Many think Harbaugh is destined for the Chargers. But like with Bill, you have to at least do your homework on Harbaugh if you are looking for a head coach.

• Mike Vrabel- Former Titans HC

  In a slightly surprising move, the Titans moved on from Vrabel. Vrabel had them as competitive as they have been since the Steve McNair days but a couple of down seasons was enough for the Titans to change directions. Vrabel is a former Coach of The Year though. And without great QB play, he had the Titans competitive. You could argue the Titans’ collapse had way more to do with the GM than it did with Mike Vrabel.

• Todd Monken- Ravens OC

  Everywhere Todd Monken has called plays recently has turned into an offensive powerhouse. He won two national Championships with Georgia and then made the jump to the Pros where he has Lamar Jackson looking like an MVP again. Which means we know he knows how to coach a mobile QB. If we are solely looking for what is best for Jalen Hurts, Monken needs to be near the top of the list.

• Bobby Slowik- Texans OC

  What the Texans have done this year with a rookie QB and a rookie Head Coach is to be applauded. And while Demeco Rayns has done a fantastic job, it is Bobby Slowik who is calling plays for the offense. When you have a great talent like CJ Stroud, things are much easier. But the Eagles have a great QB too, they just need a better scheme for him to play in. And Slwoik has now done great work with both CJ Stroud and Brock Purdy when he was the Niners passing game specialist.

• Eric Bieniemy- Commanders OC

  Every year Eric Bieniemy’s name gets thrown around. For whatever reason, he has yet to get a job. Which is why he jumped from the Chiefs to the Commanders, to get out from under Andy Reid and show he can run and NFL offense on his own. It did not go great in Washington, but that is not all on him. When your QB is Sam Howell, and you have no o-line, there is only so much you can do. And the Chiefs also took a significant step back without Bieniemy.

  

• Brian Flores- Vikings DC

  If Eagles fans want a return to blitzing a lot, Flores would certainly bring that. Flores took over the Vikings’ defense this year and turned them into a top-10 defense by many metrics. And he does that by blitzing more than most teams, but also by rising 3 and dropping more guys into coverage than any team. His last chance at Head Coach was kind of a mess, but that was not all his fault given he claims that the Dolphins owner asked him to tank on purpose. But in terms of on-field accomplishments, he has earned a second chance. it is just a question of if any team would give it to him. So far no team has asked to interview him.

   

• Steve Spagnuolo- Chiefs DC

  Ford the first time in years, the Chiefs are a defense-first team. The defense carried a struggling offense into the playoffs, and now into the second round. Things did not go well in St Louis the last time he was head coach. And while that was not all his fault, he played a big part in it. But he has done nothing but impress as a defensive coordinator since, and might get a second chance soon.

  

• Ben Johnson- Lions OC

  One of the hottest names among Coordinators is Lions OC Ben Johnson. And looking at the big step forward the Lions have taken, it is easy to see why. He drew interest last year but wanted to return to Detroit for one more year. He should get a job this year though. And a team with a young Qb should have a ton of interesting in bringing him in.

• Brian Johnson- Eagles OC

  Okay now that you have stopped booing me, we can continue. I am not saying Johnson is a good candidate. but despite how mediocre the Eagles offense looked, Brian Johnson is drawing interest. He has been pegged as a Head Coach since he came to the Eagles via Florida. And it seems like at least some in the league blame Nick, and not Johnson for the Eagles offense. And with his connection to Jalen Hurts, we can’t rule it out. No matter how much Eagles fans would hate it. And maybe we will learn he is a great coach and was just hamstrung by Sirianni’s terrible scheme.

• Antonio Pierce- Interim HC Raiders

  It seems like Pierce will get the job in Las Vegas. But if they for some reason chose to not go with the guy who turned their season around and nearly got them into the playoffs, someone else should hire him. He proved he can coach with the Raiders. He took a team that looked terrible and turned them into winners.

• Steve Wilks- 49ers DC

  Wilks has proven he is a great DC. He has been a head coach multiple times. Things did not go well in Arizona, but he also did not have a good roster. Things went much better when he was the Interim Coach in Carolina. He took over a 1-4 team and finished 6-6. But despite many in-house wanting him to keep the job, they went elsewhere, and he took the DC job in San Francisco. He has already interviewed with a few teams this season. Chances are he will get another chance as Head Coach soon.
