Each and every weekend in our fair city of Philadelphia and the “Fine Villages” that surround it there are so many things to get out and experience! From concerts to movies, plays to parties, benefits and bashes and everything in between.

This particular weekend you have you fair share to take part in. You could get your post-Halloween fix with the Monster-Mania Con taking place in Oaks. You could celebrate local Delaware county film makers at the DELCO Film Festival. There are plenty of concerts as well. Everything from “Life Is A Carnival – Last Waltz 2024” at The Met to GWAR at Franklin Music Hall. And of course we cheer on “The Boys in Blue” as the Eagles, Flyers, and Sixers all have games this weekend.

We celebrate it every Friday with Pierre’s Weekend Calendar, a cultivation of some of those happenings so you Dear Citizen can get out and make the most of the weekend. • "Life Is A Carnival -- Last Waltz 2024"

  

  A celebration of The Band’s 1976 Thanksgiving concert at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco takes place at The Met Philadelphia. The incredible musical lineup includes Ryan Bingham, Jamey Johnson, Mike Campbell & Benmont Tench (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), Don Was and more.  Tickets for “The Last Waltz” can be found here

• Monster-Mania Con

  Although Halloween is “technically” over, those true spooky season lovers celebrate it all year long.  And all this weekend the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks opens their doors for everything horror with the Monster-Mania Convention. Panels and guests from horror franchises like Terrifier, Scream, Aliens, as well as a Horror Auction hosted by Steve Morrison of the Preston and Steve Show.

• Rocky Run

  Celebrate Philly’s favorite sports hero and commemorate his iconic montage with the Rocky Run. 3 different courses to take part in including a 5K run, a 10 mile run and the 13.1 mile “Italian Stallion Challenge”. Run takes place, quite appropriately, in front of the Philadelphia Art Museum near the Rocky Statue.

  

• Love Your Park Fall Weekend

  The Philadelphia area has so many wonderful and beautiful public parts, including the nation’s largest Fairmont Park. You can make a difference and help keep these parks beautiful this weekend with the Love Your Park Fall Weekend. Over 100 Philly parks need help with collecting leaves for compost, planting trees & flowers, and more cleanup as well.

  

• Veterans Parade & Festival

  On Monday, November 11th we honor and celebrate those who have served our Armed Forces during Veterans Day. On Sunday the 10th starting at noon the Philadelphia Veterans parade will take place around Eakins Oval. Afterwards stick around for the Veterans Festival until 4pm.
