8 Current Georgia Bulldogs Who Could Be Future Eagles

The Eagles have made quite a name for themselves shopping at Georgia in recent seasons. In the 2022 draft, they took Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean. Last year they drafted Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith, and Kelee Ringo, while also trading for Georgia Alum D’Andre Swift. It’s to the point people have joked the Eagles are Georgia North, and that the Eagles need a team Bulldog like Georgia does.

And at least some of those guys, are making a big impact for the Eagles. Carter and Davis have played out of their minds through the first two games. Only two players in the NFL have more pressure than Jalen Carter does. Jordan Davis is not only shutting down the run game, but he is being a disruptive force as a pass rusher too. D’Andre Swift put up a career-high in rushing yards against the Vikings. Shopping at Georgia is working for them. We have not seen much from Smith, Ringo, or Dean yet, but hopes are high for them as well. If something is working, why change it? There are certain to be a lot of Georgia players connected to the Eagles in the 2024 draft.

So now the question becomes, what other Bulldogs will join the Eagles? Georgia is the number 1 ranked team in College Football, despite the Eagles taking some of their best players. They haven’t looked as crisp so far this season, but they are still 3-0. Until they prove otherwise, they should be favorites to be National Champions for the 3rd straight season. And they are projected to have a lot of players go in the draft once again. So even though the draft is still a ways away, let’s do some window shopping.

Here is a look at 8 current Georgia players, and if they could be fits for the Eagles in the 2024 draft:

  • Brock Bowers

    Bowers is sure to be the first Bulldog off the board next April. It is not common for a Tight End to go in the top 10, but like Kyle Pitts, Bowers is the type of prospect who can change that. He has yet to make too much of an impact this year for the Bulldogs, having just 13 catches for 135 yards through 3 games, with no TDs. But teams love the potential, and he is projected to go in the top 10.  

    That also means he is not much of an option for the Eagles. To be in a place to take him, they would either need to implode, or Howie will have to somehow pull off some deal that lands him another top-10 pick. And if they are in that situation, it won’t be a Tight End they are targeting, no matter how good he may be.  

  • S- Javon Bullard

    A Safety, on the other hand, could be more up the Eagles street. We do not yet know who Reed Blankenship or Sydney Brown are. And if by the end of the season, it appears they are not the starting caliber players the Eagles think they are, a Safety could definitely be on the Eagles’ wish list. Some scouts also think Bullard could move to Nickel Corner at the next level, and with Avonte Maddox hurt again, that could also be a need in the offseason.

    Jordan Reid of ESPN even projected he could be a fit for the Eagles in the next draft.  

    “They haven’t found a solution to losing C.J. Gardner-Johnson this offseason, but Bullard brings a very similar skill set to the slot. He primarily plays nickel and strong safety in Georgia’s defense, and he’s a physical tone-setter.”

    Of all the Georgia guys, he is probably the one that would make the most sense for the Eagles at this point.

  • RT- Amarius Mims

    Eagles have their center of the future in Cam Jurgens. They have their RG of the future in Tyler Steen. Jordan Mailata and Landon Dickerson have the left side covered. But despite still being an All-Pro, the Eagles may have to start thinking about bringing in a Lane Johnson replacement soon. He does not have the best history with injuries, and already has a Hall of fame resume. Johnson could be a guy who retires earlier than usual, so its not the worst idea to have a replacement in place. And why not go shopping at Georgia for that? 

    Many scouts think Amarius Mims could be a riser this season, and wind up a first-round pick. We know the Eagles are more than willing to spend draft capital on an O-Linemen to let them sit for a year or even 2. They intended to do it with Landon Dickerson, they did it with Cam Jurgens and Tyler Steen, and they once did it with Andre Dillard.  

    Mel Kiper had some high praise for Mims before the season.  

    “Mims has started two games in his college career and played just 492 total snaps, and yet I feel great about putting him in my top 25. Why? Because of what I saw in those snaps and what I’ve heard from college coaches and NFL front office execs. They expect him to be one of the best linemen in college football this season.”

    We recently learned Mims will need Tightrope Surgery and will miss time, it shouldn’t be a season-ender but could hurt his ability to stand out this season to lift his draft stock. While that is awful for him, it could mean Mims is more likely to fall to a spot where the Eagles would actually have a chance to take him.

  • CB- Kamari Lassiter

    The Eagles are locked into Darius Slay and James Bradberry for a few more years. But they are both getting older. The Eagles already have a collection of young promising corners in Josh Jobe, Eli Ricks, and Kelee Ringo. But why not add one more Bulldog to that mix? 

    Lassiter is maybe not as polished as the other Georgia guys on this list. But he started all 15 games for Georgia last season, and barring injury will start every game for them this year too. Back in July, Jordan Reid projected him as a first-round pick. Reid said while he needed to have more patience, he could be in for a breakout year. And Kirby Smart has often praised Lassiter as the most physical tackler on the team.

  • C- Sedrick Van Pran

    The Eagles have their center of the future in Cam Jurgens. But there was a time when they thought Landon Dickerson was their Center of the future. Then he played so well at LG, they decided to keep him there permanently. The same happened with Isaac Seumalo. If Cam Jurgens plays at an elite level at RG this season, could they do the same thing? Probably not. But if they do, there is a Bulldog in the 2024 draft they could take to play Center. 

    Van Pran is much more of what used to be the typical center before Jason Kelce changed the game. He is big, strong, and slow. Van Pran gave up just 1 sack last season and allowed a pressure rate of under 3 percent in both seasons with Georgia. He is going to be a hell of a center for some team in the NFL. Will it be the Eagles? Probably not. Eagles’ system works better with a mobile center. But Van Pran should be a great Center somewhere in the NFL.

  • LB- Smael Mondon JR.

    Why not give Nakobe Dean another Bulldog to play with at LB? LB has been an Eagles need for what feels like forever. And Georgia has at least one Linebcaker people think will be drafted in April. Mondon, like Dean, is an undersized LB who makes up for it by being ultra-aggressive, and usually in the right spot. Scouts are concerned about his ability to play the run in the NFL, due to his small size, but they think he could be solid in Coverage.  

    Would the Eagles want to go with two linebackers on the small side? Maybe, maybe not. But he is projected to be a late day 2, early day 3 pick, and that is right about where the Eagles usually like to shop for LBs.

  • RB- Kendall Milton

    The Eagles will have a need at RB again this offseason. D’Andre Swift looked great in week 2. But he is due to be a free agent, and the Eagles don’t like to give RBs a second contract. Rashaad Penny is also a Free agent. And Kenny Gainwell will be going into the last year of his deal. 

    Luckily, Georgia has an RB that will be in the draft. Kendall Milton. He had some hype coming into the season but has not really done very much through 3 games. But he was special in 2022, racking up 8 TDs. And if he picks it up as the season goes along, and gets back to breaking long TD runs, he could certainly be an interesting name on Day 2 of the draft. 

  • DT- Nazir Stackhouse

    The Eagles love Georgia DTs. We are seeing the impact Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis are having through just two weeks. And there is another DT from Georgia projected to go in the 2024 Draft. Nazir Stackhouse.  

    Stackhouse is not the freak athlete Carter or Davis is though. He lacks their straight-line speed and burst. He is far more of a run stuffer than he is a pass rusher. But he is big and strong. Stackhouse is already a force against the run, if he shows more as a pass rusher this season though, you could certainly see him climbing draft boards, and maybe attracting the attention of the Eagles.  He already has one sack early in this season.
