It’s the “The World Series Defense” all over again! During that 2008 episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Gang recounts their mishaps during Game 5 of the World Series. A 2023 version of that scenario happened last night. With a lot less parking fines.
Fans who are lucky enough to attend the Phillies v Diamondbacks NCLS series get a special surprise special guest during The Phanatic’s on field appearance. Tim McGraw, son of Phillies great, Tug McGraw, came out for Game 1. The Gang, sans Glenn Howerton, came out for Game 2. Rob McElhenney, Kaitlin Olson and Charlie Day came out to hype up the crowd. They waved rally towels, Rob high fived the big green guy, after his wife did a little bump and grind with him and chanted “LET’S GO PHILLIES”.
It’s this writer’s opinion that the guest appearances have been made extra family friendly since the Jason Kelce spectacle last year. In his 2022 World Series appearance, Jason took a knee, chugged a beer, then bear hugged The Phanatic. It beats out Rhys’ bat spike for most iconic photo of the season. But it may have changed the rules of what guests are allowed to do. I would believe that if allowed, the Always Sunny Gang would have brought out a bottle of their Four Walls Whiskey to rip shots from while on the field.
The Gang is in town promoting the Pennsylvania distribution of their Four Walls Whiskey. They did a bottle signing at multiple PA Wine & Spirits stores in the area. Then they took took the streets. Hoping behind the bar, pouring shots and making cocktails at an array of different spots. We rounded up a list of locations they visited, there’s a lot!
