It was two years ago today that a core member of the WMMR family, Sean “Rabbi” Tyszler, passed away.
He was the Music Director from 2003 to 2016 and remained a close with our crew and our listeners since. He was easy to spot at rock shows around Philadelphia, always sporting his WMMR embroidered yarmulke. He championed young bands that had yet to make a name for themselves, as well as heavy hitters like Slayer, Lamb of God, and his absolute favorite, Metallica.
Rabbi was passionate about everything he set out to do. It showed in his unmatched work ethic, and in his dedication to the Jewish faith. We will always remember Rabbi’s kindness and his passion for rock n’ roll.
