April 8th is a special day for 90s nostalgia enthusiasts: it’s Rex Manning Day.

What began as a plot point in the 1995 cult classic Empire Records is now a pop culture phenomenon. Every year, fans of the movie rekindle their love of Rex Manning, the heartthrob played by Maxwell Caulfield who’s booked for an autograph session at the film’s titular record store. Spoiler alert: everything goes awry.
